Sergo Tbileli's Venice Carnival is a three-part composition that depicts the famous carnival in Venice, Italy. Created in 2006, it introduces the viewer to Tbileli's version of Venice—a place filled with masked people, gondolas and grand canals.

The work also serves as an example of how Tbileli uses water as a medium for his artwork: he seamlessly intertwines figures into the painting's background by incorporating them into the waves or reflecting them off its surface.

As one of Tbileli's most famous pieces, Venice Carnival features many elements from his typical style—notably the use of color and texture—but on a larger scale than usual. The piece includes many figures interacting with each other and various objects around them in an effortless way; the figures seem to float through the air as if weightless and free from gravity.
